DOMEX ASCENT HIGH-COUNTRY TENTS

The Ascent is Domex’s premier tent, showcasing innovative Stealth Seam Welding technology that makes seams up to 42% stronger than conventional ones.

For the hunter, the hiker, the high-country adventurer - this range is designed to withstand tough weather conditions.

It’s hybrid canopy design achieves an excellent balance between breathability and weather protection, guaranteeing top performance in any setting.

ASCENT 1

The Ascent 1 is a tent designed for 1+ persons, capable of withstanding tough 3-season weather conditions. It stands out as one of the first tents in New Zealand equipped with a tent fly that incorporates Stealth Seam Welding Technology.

Stealth Seam Welding Technology

This innovative method merges ultrasonic edge-joining with high-frequency radio welding of tape seals, resulting in seams that are up to 42% stronger than conventional twin needle taped seams. The weld ensures waterproof integrity throughout the lifespan of the tent fly, unlike typical taped seams, which often fall short in this area. Previously, this technology has been limited to heavy fabrics.

Easy to set-up

Like all Domex tents, the hub frame design means that the tent is quick and easy for one person to set up and being free-standing gives flexibility to set up the tent in all types of terrain, with the option of moving site before pegging the tent down.

Inner tent

The lower portion of the inner tent uses breathable double Ripstop Nylon panels for durability and the upper section has fine mesh panels for increased ventilation while keeping insects out.

Other features

The Ascent 1 is packed with features including a Ripstop Nylon tent floor, air vents for increased airflow and less condensation, generous vestibule space, three storage pockets plus a lantern hook.

Why is it a good idea to use a Footprint?

We suggest utilizing a footprint that corresponds with this tent (an optional accessory) to safeguard the tent floor. This will also streamline the packing process. Any mud and debris will be contained within the footprint, allowing for a simple wipe down of the condensation on the bottom of the tent floor before you roll it up.

KEY FEATURES

Easy to Set Up

The hub-dome design, featuring inter-connected pole sections, allows for quick and simple setup by a single person.

Free-Standing Design

This design offers flexibility on various terrains, including those with vegetation, uneven ground, wet conditions, or rocky surfaces. Once the poles are in place, the tent supports itself, making it easy for one person to shift it before securing it with pegs.

Color-Coded Webbing and Pole Tips

These features ensure that poles, the inner tent, and the tent fly match correctly during setup.

Easily Identifiable Points

Fluorescent webbing and zip toggles on the inner tent, along with luminous flecks on the outer zip, guylines, and peg loops, help with identification in low-light situations.

Tent Fly with Stealth Seam Welding Technology

This strong, watertight seam will enhance the longevity of the durable ripstop nylon fly.

Tent Fly Air Vents

These vents improve airflow and minimize condensation, and they can be easily closed when needed.

Inner Tent with Mesh and Nylon Panels

This combination strikes a balance between ventilation and durability, as the mesh prevents sandflies, mosquitoes, and other insects from entering.

Two Vestibules

Offering ample gear storage outside the inner tent, they provide additional weather protection and promote better airflow and ventilation.

Inner Tent Storage

Includes three pockets (two on the walls and one on the roof) plus a hanging lantern hook.

Optional Footprint

This feature protects the tent floor and simplifies packing up, making it quicker and cleaner.
